Opening Scriptures:
- Deuteronomy 8:3
- Matthew 4:4
Message:
Take a bowl, wash it patiently,
Into it, pour a spoon of salvation,
a measure of adoption,
a ladle of discipleship.
Scatter pieces of sound teaching,
add a full cup of discipline,
and a basket of ripe fruit of the Spirit.
Season with thanksgiving,
hands cleansed in living water,
face lifted in mercy-born confidence.
Now sit,
and feast upon grace—
your soul’s true lunch.
until it gleams white as snow—
though once it was scarlet red.

your soul’s true lunch.
Reflections:
- Cleansing power: The bowl had to be washed until it was white as snow before a meal was served into it-echoing the cleansing power of the blood of Jesus.
- Spiritual food plate: Salvation, discipleship, and discipline are served in needed proportions, forming the soul's nourishment.
- Fruit of the Spirit: It completes the meal, bringing balance and fullness.
- Posture of gratitude: This diet can only be eaten with a heart of thanksgiving, reminding us that gratitude is the proper response to grace.
Applications:
- Daily scripture intake
- Practice of obedience
- Habit of gratitude - end each day with gratitude, naming mercies received.
Closing prayer:
"Lord, cleanse me with Your blood. Feed me with the spiritual meal. Let the fruit of Your Spirit grow in me, and may I eat this soul's diet with a heart full of gratitude. Amen."
He speaks. We write.
